In January 2026, I completed the first stage of a cycling expedition in Brazil, traversing the northern territories of the Mata Atlântica — the remnants of the original Atlantic Forest.
Working in collaboration with Canadian cyclist Alex Gautier, I completed a solo journey through mountainous terrain, following dirt roads and trails for nearly 500 km. The route took me from Manoel Vittorino through the wilderness of the sertão and across the Chapada Diamantina range to Lençóis. This is the first chapter of a project aimed at showcasing the natural and cultural potential of the country, while bringing greater awareness to the beauty of the Atlantic Forest—a region less known than the Amazon, yet equally vital and fascinating.
